With Supergirl soaring over to The CW next season, the network is gearing up for a sure-to-be epic four-way crossover with Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow, reports EW. Holy crossover event, Batman!
Ahead of its upfront presentation on Thursday, CW chief Mark Pedowitz told a group of reporters, "Just imagine what our superhero crossover episode is going to look like come December." He then followed up by calling the television event "our biggest one ever." Well... duh. That's a lot of superheroes to fit into one TV event.
Of course the news doesn't come as that much of a surprise, given Supergirl's recent move from CBS to The CW, "where it should have been in the first place," according to Pedowitz. For the last two seasons, it's become an annual tradition for Greg Berlanti's superhero series to cross over in the fall. Arrow first introduced Grant Gustin as Barry Allen in Season 2 of Arrow, following up the next season with a crossover between Arrow and The Flash. The two shows then both crossed over with DC's Legends of Tomorrow ahead of its midseason launch this past year, while Barry Allen crossed the Multiverse and visited Supergirl over on on CBS.
The only hurdle this proposed crossover will have to face is introducing Supergirl into the superhero fold, as we know she's from an entirely different Earth in the Multiverse. Will Barry Allen find a way to bring her to Central City? Or can Cisco create some kind of cosmic window that would connect Kara Zor-El's Earth to Barry's Earth-One? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
However, one thing's for sure: ICE CREAM FOR EVERYONE. Yes, even you, Oliver Queen.
