It seems like just yesterday we were watching Alexis Bledel blossom from an awkward bookworm on Gilmore Girls, and now, Rory Gilmore is a real-life mom.
The actress and her husband, Mad Men's Vincent Kartheiser, have reportedly given birth to their first child, a baby boy. Bledel’s Gilmore Girls costar Scott Patterson was actually the one to spill the beans, in a recent interview with Glamour magazine.
While speaking about Netflix’s upcoming Gilmore Girls revival, Patterson said of Bledel, “It was great to see her. She’s really blossomed as a woman and now she’s a proud new mother and married and happy.”
He added, “We’re comparing notes because my son is about a year and a half older than her young son. I’m showing her photos and videos and what to expect.”
Rumors that Bledel was expecting began swirling in November 2015, but were never confirmed. Keeping her pregnancy and birth under wraps, however, is just par for the case for the famously private couple. The two wed in a private ceremony in June 2014, but news of their marriage didn’t surface until that August. Sneaky, sneaky.
Congrats to the happy couple -- if Bledel’s half the mother Lorelai Gilmore is, this baby boy is in excellent hands.
