Chance The Rapper Promises His New Mixtape Will Be 'Way Better' Than Surf

As if you weren't excited already

After more than three years, the wait for Chance the Rapper's third solo mixtape will come to an end with its release on Friday. There's still not much we know about the project -- he's released "Angels" and "Somewhere in Paradise" in recent months, and performed "Blessings" on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week, though we don't know for sure if any of those will be on the project -- but now Chance is giving us a little taste of what to expect.

And it's a high bar.

"This stuff is way better than Surf," Chano told Complex, comparing new work to his 2015 mixtape with Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment. "I’ll say that on record. Donnie is awesome, and the project was awesome, but this is all of us focusing our efforts into some very hip-hop and very dance-y shit, and it feels good. So I’m excited about that."

I am, too.
