For a town as seemingly small and quaint as Rosewood, there sure is a lot of murder happening all the damn time. But when Pretty Little Liars returns this summer, the Rosewood Police Department will have an extra hand to untangle the labyrinth of lies and secrets haunting their turf. And, because this is PLL, the newcomer is of course hella attractive.
According to Deadline, actor Nicholas Gonzalez has been tapped to play Vic Furey, a “sexy, witty, straight-talker detective” in charge of overseeing Rosewood PD’s open homicides. In other words, he’ll be very, very, very busy. Rosewood cops have historically been quite incompetent, usually pinpointing everything on the Liars when they should be looking elsewhere, but here’s hoping Furey will turn things around.
While we wait to see Gonzalez suit up for the show’s Season 7 premiere this June, here are five things to know about him:
He can currently be seen on The Flash.
After appearing once in Season 1, Gonzalez recently made his grand return in Season 2 as Dante Ramon, the older brother of Cisco Ramon.
He can also be seen getting animated on Fox’s Bordertown.Tumblr
Gonzalez voices Ernesto, an ambitious family man and immigrant in the fictional town of Mexifornia.
He’s a newlywed.
The 40-year-old tied the knot with actress Kelsey Crane last month.
This isn’t the first time he’s played a detective.Tumblr
He’s had experience in this department before: He played Detective Mike Sandoval on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Detective Rodriguez on Melrose Place, and Detective Luke Morales on Sleepy Hollow.
It’s also not his first time joining a hit teen soap — you may remember him from The O.C.Tumblr
When The O.C. returned for its second season, Marissa was heartbroken after Ryan left town. But she compensated for her boo’s absence by hooking up with D.J., the oft-shirtless yard boy at her mom’s new mansion.
Pretty Little Liars returns June 21 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
