Will Beyoncé Win An Emmy For Lemonade?

Beyoncé: Queen, Innovator, and Future Emmy Winner

It's been less than a week since Beyoncé dropped Lemonade, and the visual album release is already an Emmy front-runner. Seriously.

Variety reports that HBO plans to submit Lemonade for Emmy consideration in the variety special category, because the visual made its debut on the premium cable network over the weekend. In this post-Lemonade world, Beyoncé is one step closer to an EGOT.

Directed by Kahlil Joseph and Beyoncé herself, Lemonade also showcased the talents of some incredible directors and cinematographers, including Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Åkerlund, and Mark Romanek. Currently, HBO is working to see if these "additional directors" can join Joseph and Bey as credited directors for the project.

Of course, this wouldn't be Queen Bey's first Emmy nom. Beyoncé has twice been nominated for an Emmy and seen nary a win: last year for the On the Run special, and in 2013 for the Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show. Given the insatiable conversation around Lemonade at the moment, we wouldn't be surprised if Bey sees Emmy gold come September.

TBH, an Emmy would look pretty cute next to her 20 Grammys.
