They Told DJ Khaled He Couldn’t Perform, So Now He’s Opening On Beyoncé’s World Tour

'Stadium alert'

DJ Khaled keeps racking up the W’s. After Snapchatting his way to the top, the major key holder has revealed what might be his most boss move yet: He’s been booked as the opening act on Beyoncé’s upcoming Formation World Tour.

We The Best’s own -- who recently joined Jay Z’s Roc Nation -- spilled the tea lemonade in an Instagram video on Tuesday, saying, “They told me I would never tour. Now I’m on the Beyoncé Formation Tour. Stadium alert! See you in a stadium near you.”

Khaled accompanied the announcement with a lengthy caption, calling the news “a major milestone in my career,” teasing his upcoming album Major Key, and praising “the icon, Beyoncé.”

“I want to thank the incomparable icon Beyoncé for this tremendous opportunity of a lifetime,” he wrote. “Your music is the soundtrack to so many people's lives across the globe. Your legacy is a blueprint for the young generation to follow and strive to be. You are the true definition of a superstar. Thank you so much for inviting me on your stage.”

According to Consequence of Sound, Khaled is confirmed for 16 U.S. dates, including the tour's opening show in Miami on April 27. The tour will be preceded by Bey’s mysterious project Lemonade, which airs on HBO on Saturday at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
