Birdman Announces Two New Cash Money Albums And -- Surprise! -- They're Not Lil Wayne's

Coming this summer

When you're the head of a label, you can pretty much do what you want. This includes putting out your own album. This is what Birdman plans to do.

On Tuesday night, the Cash Money founder and CEO announced plans to release his new album, Ms. Gladys, this June. It'll be his first solo album since 2009's Priceless.

In addition, he revealed plans to release a Rich Gang album the following month. It's unclear, though, exactly what that means. The 2013 self-titled Rich Gang album was essentially a Young Money/Cash Money musical showcase, with over a dozen artists appearing, from Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj to Limp Bizkit and Caskey. Then there's the 2014 mixtape, Rich Gang: Tha Tour Pt. 1, which is a group effort from Birdman, Young Thug, and Rich Homie Quan; these days, though, Thug and Quan don't seem to be on the best terms.

So what exactly a Rich Gang album means remains a mystery for now. The fact that Wayne's Tha Carter V was not a part of Birdman and the label's new release announcements, though, is not all that mysterious.
