Kendrick Lamar Is Here To Help Kobe Bryant Ride Off Into The Sunset

Levitate

Kendrick Lamar has become something of a spokesman for Los Angeles. His music tells stories of the city where he grew up. His videos illustrate the scenery and illuminate the lives of the people from that city. And he was given the keys to Compton for his contributions to the community.

So his paying tribute to Kobe Bryant, the legendary Los Angeles Laker who will play his last NBA game on Wednesday night, feels fitting.

For a video with ESPN, K. Dot — with a musical backdrop of his latest single, "Levitate" — offered a poetic and glowing reflection on the career of the future Hall of Famer. The video comes just days after Kendrick honored a few other Los Angeles legends, when he inducted N.W.A into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame over the weekend.

Don't be surprised if you see Kendrick in the house to watch the final game tomorrow night.
