Charli XCX And Demi Lovato Will Lend Their Awesomeness To 'The Angry Birds Movie'

The pop stars recently announced their roles in the upcoming animated flick

Would you believe me if I told you that this summer’s hottest movie will be based on an app about flightless birds and mysterious green piggies? If not, it’s time you know: The Angry Birds Movie is gearing up for an explosive premiere, and it just recruited a couple of big names to its already impressive roster.

Over the weekend, producer John Cohen revealed that Charli XCX has joined the cast to voice Willow, a turquoise, beanie-wearing bird. The 23-year-old joins an eclectic lineup of voice talent, including Jason Sudeikis, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Josh Gad, Maya Rudloph, Kate McKinnon, Peter Dinklage, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, and Blake Shelton.

As if Charli’s involvement wasn’t exciting enough, Demi Lovato announced on Monday that she’ll sing a song on the film’s soundtrack. “Can’t wait for u to hear it and see the movie in May,” she wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a pic of her and 13 animated birds posing as her glam squad.

With these two awesome, high-profile pop stars joining the fun, let’s just say our interest in The Angry Birds Movie has gone from “Stone Cold” to “Vroom Vroom.” The film flies into theaters on May 20.
