Rihanna’s ‘Kiss It Better’ Is Just As Sexy When Covered By Father John Misty (Yep, Really)

Watch in awe as he performs a surprisingly faithful rendition

The last time we saw Father John Misty, he was floating in an acid-induced haze with Lana Del Rey in her freakish “Freak” video. Now, the unpredictable indie veteran has toned it down slightly for a surprising live cover of Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better.”

Kicking off his spring tour behind 2015’s I Love You, Honeybear, Father John Misty treated the crowd in Santa Ana, Calif., to a shockingly faithful rendition of Rih’s latest ANTI single. Basking in the glow of bright pink and purple lights, he writhes about the stage while giving the sultry tune an appropriately slick cover, making it a fun watch for fans of either artist.

Father John Misty now joins Miguel as one of the more high-profile artists to cover Rihanna’s new tune, but we’re expecting that to change soon. Rih just released the sexy music vid for “Kiss It Better” on Thursday morning, and you can bet everyone will be clamoring to cover the smash hit-in-the-making in no time.
