Free Cake For Every Creature is the docile pop project of Katie Bennett, whose latest release, Talking Quietly Of Anything With You, speaks volumes in an array of peaceful, hushed tones. The record's title track, inspired by Bennett's move from upstate New York to Philadelphia, details feelings of isolation within a large setting. "I'm still getting used to the landscape of a city," Bennett sings.
The track's video, shot in elegant, grainy black-and-white by Craig Scheihing, highlights these feelings while emphasizing the importance of making connections with those around you.
"I love that Craig shot me with the view of the city in the background, because it speaks to how I felt both close to and distant from the city when I first moved here," Bennett told MTV News. "We ran into a few friends and filmed them, because as much as the video is about feeling isolated, it’s also about relieving that isolation through conversation with another person."
