As our bleach blonde and gnarly mustachioed friend here so often coos, "Hulkamania is running wild, brother."
Uh huh. With thirty-some-odd years in the pro wrestling-slash-entertainment biz under his big heavyweight title belt and gobs of highly publicized personal drama, the Hulkster's life story is totally ripe for a big screen revival. And he's got just the guy in mind to portray him, too.
Speaking to The Canadian Press in support of his upcoming Q&A at Toronto's Fan Expo, Hulk Hogan explained that a script for this project is already being tapped out to his liking.
"Two kids that are writers in L.A., hot young writers, they did a four-page treatment and I'm telling you they nailed it," H Squared gushed. "They nailed it like they were living in my shoes, and I gave them the green light to go ahead and write the first pass."
The two scribes were apparently superfans of the WWF, WCW (and every other acronym in the game) champ, so in addition to getting his ringside manner down pat, they also paid tender attention to the raw side of the muscley man. "They followed not only the smoke and mirrors that you see on TV, but they followed personally what I was through: the divorce, the car accident, all the drama, the eight back surgeries, the hip replacements, the knee replacements," Hogan said.
As for whom Hollywood Hogan himself has in mind to portray him, well, it's someone of superheroic stature these days. But since he was totally a movie star himself once upon a time ...
... he's got the right to be ambitious and choosey, right?
"We need a serious, serious actor that knows what he's doing," Hulk Hogan explained. "You know who I thought would be good? That guy that did that action movie, 'Thor.'"
He means Chris Hemsworth, obviously, which makes sense given the elder Hemsworth's jacked status and general tallness. But will the Marvel star step into the Hulk's movie ring? Stay tuned (but please don't hold your breath).
