'Thor: The Dark World' Re-Shoots Serving Up More Loki

There used to be a lot of talk about Loki biting the proverbial bullet once and for all in "Thor: The Dark World" — particularly since Joss Whedon confirmed the character will not be around to wreak any more havoc in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" — but after Tom Hiddleston owned pretty much all of Comic-Con with his awesome in-costume cameo swagger, the chatter changed real quick. Marvel Studio's own prez Kevin Feige stepped out to declare that Loki's not going anywhere anytime soon and will instead be "the big bad for us, for a long time."

Given all those whispers about Loki's epic demise in "Thor 2," though, many wondered how exactly that might work out. But friends, it looks like the answer is here as director Alan Taylor has now confirmed they're doing a big round of re-shoots for the very purpose of incorporating s'more Loki into the pic.

Speaking to Collider, Taylor explained, "We're doing full scenes ... that were not in the movie before. We're adding scenes, creating scenes, writing scenes for the first time. We realized how well Loki was working in the movie, and we wanted to do more with him."

"It was like, 'Oh, we could do this. We could jam this in here because he's such a wonderful guy to watch do his stuff," he added.

Chris HemsworthJaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings and Anthony Hopkins are also said to be involved with the additional photography sessions, and Taylor assures that although the film's release date (Nov. 8) is just a few months away, the re-shoots aren't anything to worry our little heads over.

"Kevin Feige's always trying to make the film better, see if he can push it up," Taylor said. "I saw him do this on 'Iron Man 3.' I saw him do it on 'Avengers.' They have to kind of pry it out of Marvel's hands and put it up on screens because he never wants to stop improving things. So, that's the phase we're in right now."

Well, there we have it.
