Get ready for some pantsuits and goofy dancing, because Ellen DeGeneres has just been announced as the host of the 2014 Academy Awards, the organization's 86th annual ceremony.
It's official: I'm hosting the #Oscars! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.

In a press release posted to the official website of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, ceremony producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron praised DeGeneres, who will take her second turn as host.
"We are thrilled to have Ellen DeGeneres host the Oscars," said Zadan and Meron. "As a longtime friend, we had always hoped to find a project for us to do together and nothing could be more exciting than teaming up to do the Oscars. There are few stars today who have Ellen's gift for comedy, with her great warmth and humanity. She is beloved everywhere and we expect that the audience at the Dolby Theatre, and in homes around the globe, will be as excited by this news as we are."
DeGeneres previously hosted the ceremony in 2007. If nothing else, her past performance tells us that she will always let us know when Leo is in the house, which is something we appreciate about her.
DeGeneres was herself nominated for an Emmy for her 2007 hosting gig, which makes our head spin with the vicious cycle of statues and bedazzled cleavage that must have been. Awards whiplash!
The 86th Annual Academy Awards are set to take place Sunday, March 2, 2014. Prepare accordingly.
