While nothing's been officially confirmed nor sworn under oath or signed on the dotted line with blood or what have you just yet, the most popular theory now concerning Benicio Del Toro's role in Marvel's forthcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie is that he'll portray Taneleer "The Collector" Tivan.
With that suspicion in mind, it's also been a commonly held belief that the character might span the Marvel (movie) Universe as he roams around trying to collect artifacts and people to stow away and protect through the destruction of the universe. And, if you hear what we're hearing from "Thor: The Dark World" star Clive Russell in a new interview with Flicks & the City, that crossover might just happen sooner than later.
While discussing the differing acting styles of Brits and honky tonk American-types — with him amazed at how little thesps from the U.S. of A. do to achieve their movie moxie — Russell let it slip that he'd recently done a little somethin' somethin' opposite the Oscar-winning baddie.
"I worked with Benicio Del Toro on a scene in which he was meant to be quite angry, and sitting fifteen feet away I couldn't hear a word he was saying. But you look on at the screen, and it's absolutely there," he said.
Given the context — that he was discussing "Thor 2" and its actors Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins and Rene Russo at the time of the del Toro name drop — annnd since they don't have anything else in common movie or TV-wise, it sure sounds like we might just be able to expect a little "Guardians of the Galaxy" segue coming along in "Thor 2" to us.

"Thor: The Dark World" hits theaters on Nov. 8, and "Guardians of the Galaxy" launches on Aug. 1, 2014.
