With San Diego Comic-Con right around the corner, it's no coincidence that Lionsgate chose this week to unveil the superhero-iffic costumes from the next installment of "The Hunger Games."
Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and nine other veteran and new cast members from "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" are looking quite fetching in the skintight, futuristic, scuba suit looking tournament getups they're sporting. The studio behind the multiple MTV Movie Award-winning franchise debuted the 11 posters across six outlets on Tuesday: MTV News, Yahoo! Movies, MSN, Empire, Moviefone and the LA Times Hero Complex.
"The Hunger Games" isn't a superhero story of course, nor is the series based on comic books. But ever since Jessica Alba and Dane Cook brought a rom-com to the Con, all bets are off, right? "The Hunger Games" at least has plenty of genre elements, so the crew will be welcomed with open arms by the Hall H crowd on Saturday (or least, they should expect a better welcome than "Twilight"). Saturday will also see the unveiling of a brand new "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" trailer.
These Quarter Quell-related posters show off tributes Katniss, Peeta, Johanna, Finnick, Mags, Wiress, Beetee, Brutus, Enobaria, Gloss and Cashmere. The all-weather-wear look of the suits no doubt ties into the watery scenes shot in Hawaii.
