'The Spectacular Now' Trailer: Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller Find Love in a Hopeless Place

If you want to be surprised about, um, anything at all in festival circuit favorite "The Spectacular Now," we'd like to firmly but gently take you by the shoulders and steer you away from the above trailer, courtesy of MTV News. We're not telling you which one it is, but the very last shot of the film is definitely included in this trailer.

If you're cool with getting the major gist of the movie — it is, after all, another senior year of high school coming of age movie, albeit a spectacularly (heyo) well-done one — watch away.

Miles Teller stars as Sutter Keely, a high school senior coasting through his days on charm and a healthy amount of alcohol — until his girlfriend Cassidy (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) dumps him, sending him skidding off course. Luckily for him, he veers straight into fellow senior Aimee Finicky (Shailene Woodley, giving a very convincing performance). As Aimee and Sutter grow closer (and write their dreaded college essays), he begins to try and figure out who he really is, including hunting down his deadbeat dad (played by Kyle Chandler, Coach Taylor himself).

If there's any justice in the world, this'll be a late-summer hit when it's released in theaters on August 2.
