'Dumb And Dumber To' Finds a Home

Well, that didn't take too long.

Or is that "to" long?

Roughly a week after news broke that Warner Bros./New Line had gotten cold feet about the sequel to "Dumb and Dumber," Universal snapped up distribution rights to "Dumb and Dumber To." Red Granite, the moneybags behind "The Wolf of Wall Street," will pony up the $35 million Peter and Bobby Farrelly said they will need to direct the sequel, according to Deadline.

Thankfully both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels are set to return -- unlike that weird prequel New Line trotted out in 2003. Warner will still get a chunk of the cash.

The Farrelly brothers rewrote a script from Sean Anders and John Morris and should get into production soon. Harry (Daniels) and Lloyd (Carrey) will hit the road once again, this time on a mission surrounding Harry's illegitimate offspring.

Spend a few minutes with this trailer to remember what happens when comedy sequels are dumb in all the wrong ways. We're counting on you, original creative team!
