Aaron Taylor-Johnson has a lot of experience kicking bad guy ass. After all, not only did he suit up for 2010's" Kick-Ass" as the superhero Kick-Ass, he's also back to kick some more ass in "Kick-Ass 2" this August 16. Much ass has been kicked is what we're getting at.
But that's just the tip of the assberg, because according to Deadline, Taylor-Johnson is in talks with Marvel to play the mutant crimefighter Quicksilver in 2015's epic superhero event "The Avengers 2."
Of course, this is far from a done deal. After all, Taylor-Johnson has been in major demand recently, meaning there may be scheduling issues that could prevent him from joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes. For instance, Taylor-Johnson is currently filming "Godzilla," which as you can imagine is a pretty big commitment.
Still, the idea of Taylor-Johnson as the super-fast Quicksilver is intriguing for several reasons, including the fact that his "Kick-Ass" co-star Evan Peters has already signed on to play Quicksilver in Fox's own superhero event movie, 2014's "X-Men: Days of Future Past." That could get... awkward.
More importantly, this news seems to debunk the popular internet theory that Fox and Marvel have been coordinating their casting in preparation for some kind of inter-studio movie crossover between the X-Men and the Avengers. Which is too bad, because that would literally be the coolest thing that ever happened in human history.
Still, Taylor-Johnson in "Avengers 2" would be fairly cool in its own right, assuming they manage to sort out the scheduling conflicts. And if not, hey, maybe he can just film two movies simultaneously. After all, Quicksilver is supposed to be the fastest man alive, right?
