Seth MacFarlane has decided not to host the Oscars again ... again.

Last month, 2014 Academy Awards producing duo Craig Zadan and Neil Meron all but begged the "Family Guy" funnyman to come back for another turn on the Oscars stage after he'd already said "no way" to the idea before — it was on Twitter, but it was still a definite answer — and while he has admitted to at least considering a second chance at the job of mocking celebutantes as they collect Hollywood's most elite prizes, it's just not going to happen.

"Traumatized critics exhale: I'm unable to do the Oscars again. Tried to make it work schedule-wise, but I need sleep," he wrote on Twitter today. "However, I highly recommend the job, as Zadan and Meron are two of the most talented producers in the business."

Not one to leave things on too serious a note, he then added, "My suggestion for host is Joaquin Phoenix" (which is just  "total, utter bulls**t).

Interestingly enough, MacFarlane gave his "Family Guy" fellowship this jokey taste of what might be expected of him on Oscars effort number two during the show's season finale last night ...

You know what? Maybe they should snare up Phoenix for the gig.
