'Divergent' Photo Train Rolls in Ahead of Schedule

Cue all the hand flailing because a first glimpse of the "Divergent" movie is in, initiates!

Yes, it's super duper early — considering the fact that production, like, just started — but Summit Entertainment knows they've got a cash cart on track here and wants this train to roll into Tinseltown (by way of futuristic Chicago) at full speed.

So, the first pic from "Divergent" came in today via Entertainment Weekly, revealing the newest queen of YA Shailene Woodley as our heroine, Tris.

The Veronica Roth faithful will recognize this pic as the knife-throwing scene from Tris' Dauntless faction initiation process, when her hunky trainer Four must test his aim with her posted up before the target as a test of bravery-slash-bit of punishment for bad behavior.

Apart from the fact that her hair may be a teensy weensy bit more Mary Jane red a la "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" than readers may have been expecting, most "Divergent" bookophiles seem utterly thrilled with this first peek into what director Neil Burger and the cast are putting together up there in the Windy City.

Per Woodley, the cast is "a good group" which has been "hanging out on weekends, celebrating birthdays. Everyone just wants to get to know one another. It’s rare to get a big group together and not have any conflicts. It’s really kind of amazing."

Also starring in the film are Theo James, Kate Winslet, Jai Courtney, Zoe Kravitz, Maggie Q, Ansel Elgort, Ray Stevenson, Mekhi Phifer, Ashley Judd, Tony Goldwyn, Amy Newbold, Ben Lamb, Miles Teller, Ben Lloyd-Wright and Justine Wachsberger.

After "Divergent," Woodley is slated to start filming another hot Young Adult adaptation, "The Fault In Our Stars." Needless to say, she's lined up for quite a year.

"Divergent" is scheduled to hit theaters on March 21, 2014.
