Christian Bale absolutely killed (PUN PUN PUN) the Patrick Bateman role in "American Psycho" (2000), arguably to the point that it's simply impossible to imagine anyone else as the transcendent character. On this much I presume we can basically all agree.
That was, of course, before we were given the pleasure of seeing an object of Bateman's obsession, Huey Lewis, in the role, and now we're having second thoughts. As our fraternal twin sisters at Moviefone originally discovered, Funny or Die released a quick two-minute video featuring Lewis convincingly axe-murdering an equal-parts clueless and helpless 'Weird Al' Yankovic, who also predictably chainsaws his role as well. (Okay, that pun works less well.)
This was apparently produced to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of Huey Lewis and the News' "Sports," the album that Bateman deconstructs so brilliantly (and, uh, psychotically) in "American Psycho."
