Without Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo there is no "Vacation," folks.

Audreys and Rustys tended to come and go (as Old Navy reminded us this winter) over the years, but Clark and Ellen kept the family afloat all four movies. So, major snaps to the gang trying to reboot these tales of traveling woes for wrangling in the duo for a cameo.

Per Variety, both Chase and D'Angelo have now signed on to reprise those lovably goofy Griswolds one last time for the film, which will otherwise center on a now-grown-up Rusty (a la "Hangover" star Ed Helms) and his own family (Christina Applegate is in talks to star as his wife) as they carry on the same bad roading luck, fit with a pit stop at mom and dad's place. Douse the lights, Sparky! No word yet one whether a new Audrey is on tap too.

The script for the as-yet-untitled reboot was penned and will be directed by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein of "Horrible Bosses" and "The Incredible Burt Wonderstone."

The last "Vacation" movie hit Vegas in '97, but Chase and D'Angelo did tag up just three years ago for the short film "Hotel Hell Vacation" which effectively solidified the fact that these two are just not allowed to kick back and relax. Ever.
