You guys, James Franco doesn't like it when you text in front of him in a movie theater. Like, he really doesn't like it. So much so that he recently recorded a PSA for the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin advocating putting away your phone in movie theaters — specifically, the Alamo Drafthouse.
The 70 second video is intermittently intercut with various clips of Franco's ridiculous "Alien" character in "Spring Breakers," and though Alien never mentioned in the film any frustrations he had with people texting in movie theaters (deleted scenes?), the video's editor does an excellent job at making you believe that he did, if subliminally. Alien just wants to enjoy bikinis and big booties, y'all. It's what life is about. Don't ruin it for him.
And so next time you're at the Alamo Drafthouse (or any other fine movie-projecting establishment) and you want to send a brief text or check Twitter really quickly, maybe take a look around first: You never know if a giggling, grill-wearing, half-smirking, likely high James Franco will be behind you, ready to comically berate you in front of your friends at a moment's notice.
