Things Go Bump in the Basement in 'The Conjuring' Trailer

Ya know, Vera Farmiga is due for having another on-screen nervous breakdown. After all, it's been some time since "Orphan" and "Joshua" and "Source Code" and all those other movies in which she's constantly freaking out (usually about her kids or Jake Gyllenhaal).

Vera teams up with Patrick Wilson to play a pair of married demonologists (never a boring dinner conversation there!) in "The Conjuring," the latest horror outing from director James Wan ("Saw," "Insidious" and that movie where ventriloquist dummies come to life or something).

It's actually Lili Taylor who takes center stage in the first teaser trailer for the film, playing a woman who's obviously never seen a James Wan movie as she ventures into a deep, dark basement after a bunch of framed photographs fall off the wall on the staircase. Always a good idea, Lili, always.

Anyway, things get spooky, as they tend to do in these things. And you know you'll go see it.

Check out the trailer below, or in HD at iTunes Movie Trailers. "The Conjuring" opens July 19, a little over a month before Wan and Wilson unveil "Insidious Chapter 2" on Aug. 30.
