Seth MacFarlane is currently experiencing some rather serious backlash for the ups and downs of his turn as host of this year's Academy Awards, so it's hardly a surprise there's "no way" he'll take that job again. And while it's been less than a week since the Oscars, people are already starting to look forward to next year's big show with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler among the most wanted hosts for 2014, natch.
Unfortunately, that will not happen.
Fey and Poehler did a swell job tackling the Golden Globes in January and managed to blaze down that line between hilarious and crude, so of course they're desirable candidates for hosting next year's show ... but according to Fey herself, she's opting out of that opportunity all together.
"I just feel like that gig is so hard. Especially for, like, a woman — the amount of months that would be spent trying on dresses alone ... no way," she told Huffington Post. While she was totally flattered by being "Shatnered" in this year's Oscar's opening skit and totally "had fun" with Poehler on the Globes stage, she shot down even the most remote possibility of hosting the Oscars.
When asked whether there was even a "one in a million chance" of the comedic BFF dream team hosting the show, she declared, "I wish I could tell you there was."
We wish she could too. Boo.
