We've been living in denial for the better part of two decades, but we're now ready to admit it: Adam Sandler makes pretty bad movies. There, we said it.

Well, unless they're movies directed by Paul Thomas Anderson ("Punch-Drunk Love") ... or co-starring Drew Barrymore.

The on-screen lovebirds of "The Wedding Singer" and "50 First Dates" might now be set for that crucial third date as they look to possibly reunite for a new (and currently untitled) romantic comedy, according to Variety.

The film explores the growing phenomenon of "blended families" with the story of a a man and woman who, after a disastrous blind date, unexpectedly find themselves stuck at a holiday resort together with their respective kids from previous marriages. Sandler is attached to star though no official offer has been made to birthday girl Barrymore yet.

Sandler looking to hook up with Barrymore again has us thinking that maybe the aging comedian is realizing that he needs to get his mojo back after the horrendous one-two gut punch of "Jack and Jill" and "That's My Boy." He was attached to star in the western comedy "The Ridiculous 6," though that's been postponed for script revisions (a "script?" What?).

"Untitled Blended Families Rom-Com" is set to be Adam Sandler's next project with production set to commence in May. He'll next be seen in "Grown Ups 2," which hits theaters on July 12 and will hopefully be at least a little bit better than "Grown Ups."

Meanwhile, Drew Barrymore hasn't been seen on screen since saving the whales in "Big Miracle," which opened last February.
