By the beard of Zeus! Ron Burgundy's got himself a nemesis.
James Marsden will give the legendary anchor a run for his money as he's signed on to bring antagonism to "Anchorman: The Legend Continues," according to Deadline.
The "X-Men" star will be playing a rival anchor who no doubt will inspire Burgundy and his Action News Team posse to come up with all sorts of colorful ways with which to describe and insult him. Marsden joins a cast that includes Kristen Wiig and returning players Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate.
Marsden has had a blast showing off his comedy chops in the past few years, most notably with his role as Liz Lemon's paramour Criss Chros on "30 Rock." Marsden was also probably the best thing in the otherwise mediocre "Sex Drive," stole scenes left and right from Amy Adams in "Enchanted" and managed to sucessfully crash the otherwise estrogen-heavy "Bachelorette."
Marsden recently wrapped "Walk of Shame" with his "30 Rock" pal Elizabeth Banks and will be seen as JFK in Lee Daniels' upcoming "The Butler." He's also rumored to be returning for a fourth go-round as Scott Summers/Cyclops in "X-Men: Days of Future Past."
"Anchorman: The Legend Continues" will commence with production in March with a look toward a Dec. 20 release date, which will make for quite the classy holiday movie season.
