It feels like ages ago that Arnold Schwarzenegger made his most famous promise (no, not the one to Maria Shriver) when he declared, "I'll be back." Well, it turns out he might just be a man of his word after all—at least when it comes to his career. The actor-turned-politician-turned-actor is, indeed, coming back… to his most famous role, that is.

During a press conference in London for "The Last Stand," Schwarzenegger revealed that he will appear in the next "Terminator" film, which is currently being developed by producer David Ellison, Bleeding Cool reports.

While there's been no official confirmation of Schwarzenegger's involvement, we do know that two hotshot scribes, Laeta Kalogridis (of "Shutter Island" fame) and Patrick Lussier (co-writer of "Drive Angry") have been hired to pen the script. As of now, there's no word as to whether this story will revolve around the Connor family like previous installments, or how Schwarzenegger's age will be treated. In theory, the terminator is an ageless machine… and while Schwarzenegger might be keeping it pretty tight, he isn't exactly ageless.

His future acting career seems uncertain at best, considering his current flick, the action thriller,"The Last Stand," is struggling at the U.S. box office. That said, maybe some hardcore franchise fans will come out for this reboot and keep the governator going strong, uh, we mean, the terminator.
