Director Kathryn Bigelow may have been snubbed by the Oscars but she got the last laugh this weekend, as her film "Zero Dark Thirty" earned an estimated $24 million according to Film.com to take the top spot at the box office.

That was enough to knock off the Marlon Wayans horror spoof "A Haunted House," which came in second with $18.8 million. "Gangster Squad," meanwhile, fizzled despite an all-star cast that includes Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, bringing in just $16.7 million for a disappointing third place finish.

For a complete rundown of this week's box office top ten, including figures for Oscar favorites "Lincoln," "Les Misérables" and "Django Unchained," head to Film.com.
