Tyler Perry's success is undeniable. Over the past 15 years, the writer, actor, producer and director has become a one man movie factory and in the process turned himself into both a brand and an icon. And yet, for all of his success, Perry still faces an odd backlash from some who question whether he's a legitimate artist.
So how does Perry answer those critics? By featuring Kim Kardashian in the trailer for his new movie "Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor."
In your face, movie snobs!
Of course, Perry can pretty much afford to do whatever the hell he wants in his movies, because not only are they almost always successful, but there's a large segment of the population that is going to support his films no matter what the critics say. Delivering one hit after another tends to create a pretty loyal fan base.
And for those fans, the new trailer for "Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor" promises to provide some patented Perry melodrama, as Jurnee Smollett plays a marriage counselor whose own marriage to childhood sweetheart Lance Gross is imperiled when she finds herself being seduced by smooth talking rich dude Robbie Jones.
Tyler Perry has a confession to make: He doesn't care what anybody says, he's going to do movies his own way, Kim Kardashian and all. Check out the proof, courtesy of Yahoo! Movies.
