Never let it be said that Universal failed to exploit popular characters when they had a chance. Case in point: The new trailer for "Despicable Me 2," which features even more of those loveable minions doing goofy, adorable things, seemingly at random.

Who needs plot when you have humanoid Twinkies talking in gibberish?

Of course, the answer is that nobody needs plot when the minions are concerned, as proven by the overwhelming popularity of the tiny yellow breakout stars of 2010's animated hit "Despicable Me." While that film did, in fact, have a storyline, the first teaser trailer for "Despicable Me 2" simply featured a bunch of minions singing nonsense, and fans seemed to love it.

And now the second trailer is here. Besides one tiny cameo from baby Agnes, this new clip features even more minions doing minion-y things without even the remotest hint of a storyline. Well, other than the UFO. So do fans even care about seeing Steve Carell's Gru and the rest of the humans from "Despicable Me?" Or will two hours of nonsense from anthropomorphic nerf balls be enough to entertain?
