These days, New York City is known as the city that never sleeps, the center of the pop culture universe, the place that makes new stars every day on television, on Broadway and in the movies. But not so long ago, New York City had another title: The most dangerous city in America.

And now acclaimed documentarian Ken Burns is taking a look at the Big Apple's darkest hour with the new trailer for "The Central Park Five."

Co-directed by Burns' daughter, Sarah Burns, "The Central Park Five" examines the infamous and brutal 1989 assault of a female jogger in Central Park. Five youths no older than 15 years old were rounded up, convicted and sent to prison, where they each served several years of jail time before a serial rapist confessed to actually committing the crime.

"The Central Park Five" is set to hit select theaters on Nov. 23, but you can get a sneak peek at it right now courtesy of Awards Daily.
