It's full speed ahead on a post-"Twilight" world for R.Pattz.
The "Cosmopolis" star is ready to embrace the dark realms of film noir as he signs on to play a supporting role in "Hold On to Me," according to Deadline.
"Hold On to Me" is a true crime drama about a femme fatale (Carey Mulligan) who, along with her dum-dum boyfriend, kidnaps a ransoms their town's richest resident. They bury the poor guy in a box and ... well, things go pretty much straight to hell from there.
Pattinson will be playing the role of Jimmy, another love interest of the lady villain who isn't involved with the crime (aww, what's the fun in that?). The film will be directed by James Marsh, who called the shots on the acclaimed documentary, "Man on Wire," as well as "Project Nim."
R.Pattz adds "Hold On to Me" to his already busy early 2013 schedule, when he'll also be filming "The Rover" with Guy Pearce and "Mission Blacklist," the true story of the U.S. military interrogator responsible for discovering the location of Saddam Hussein.
First thing's first, though, as Pattinson will next be seen reprising his role of Edward Cullen for the final time in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2," opening Nov. 16 (which is, like, mere weeks away).
