After the terrible tragedy in Aurora, Colorado this summer that left 12 audiences members dead at a screening of "The Dark Knight Rises," the folks behind the upcoming film "Gangster Squad" were faced with a dilemma as one of the main sequences in the film revolved around gangsters opening fire inside a crowded theater. What could they do?

Well, now the brand new trailer for the revised version of "Gangster Squad" is here and it features a brilliant answer: A whole lot more Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.

Problem solved.

Originally slated to open in theaters back on September 7, "Gangster Squad" was pushed up to January 11 in order to give director Ruben Fleischer a chance to film a whole new scene to replace the excised theater shootout sequence.

But while that updated Chinatown throwdown is glimpsed in the new trailer, most of the clip focuses on Gosling and Stone, who had such memorably incendiary chemistry in last year's "Crazy, Stupid, Love." This time around, Gosling is part of a crack squad of LAPD members being put together to fight Sean Penn's crime boss, while Stone is the gal who gets caught in the middle when the bullets start to fly.

The action looks amazing, but the action between Gosling and Stone looks even more amazing. Courtesy of Rope of Silicon, here's the new revised trailer for "Gangster Squad:"
