Zombies are all the rage in Hollywood these days, but there's one zombie who has been setting the pop culture pace for over two decades now: Rock star turned director Rob Zombie. And with Halloween rolling around, you had to know that the director of "Halloween" would have something up his sleeve.
You just probably didn't expect it to involve so much opera.
But one of the keys to scaring people is, after all, surprise. And so it's no surprise that Zombie's latest effort, "The Lords of Salem," is filled with creepy imagery, disturbing chants, weird witches and even some cool goth fashion, all backed by a soaring classical soundtrack that will have even the most hardcore metalhead shivering with anticipation.
"The Lords of Salem" doesn't yet have a firm release date, though given Zombie's track record and the buzz generated by the film's debut at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, you can expect to see it in theaters sometime very soon.
