You wouldn't think there was much new you could do with a franchise like "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," especially after nearly four decades of sequels, prequels and spinoffs. After all, the premise is pretty much all right there in the title: A guy from Texas massacres people with a chainsaw. It's just not that complicated.

But as far as Lionsgate is concerned, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, which is why the trailer for "Texas Chainsaw 3D" features a lot of chainsaws, a lot of massacres and a lot of Texas, not necessarily in that order.

Sometimes it pays to keep it simple.

The seventh in a line of horror movies that traces itself back to the 1974 cult classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," this latest edition stars Alexandra Daddario as a young'un who inherits a big mansion from some Texan relatives she didn't even know she had. And it turns out there's something else she didn't know: One of those relatives likes to kill people with a chainsaw and make masks our of their skin. Hey, there's a black sheep in every family, right?

"Texas Chainsaw 3D" isn't set to hit theaters until Jan. 3, but we've got a sneak peek right now thanks to Bloody Disgusting. Enjoy?
