John Goodman Brings Villainy to 'The Hangover Part III'

What happened last night that would invoke the wrath of John Goodman?

We may soon be finding out, as the suddenly super-busy "Argo" star is in talks to provide antagonism to Todd Phillips' post-bacchanal threequel, "The Hangover Part III," according to Variety.

The intricacies of Goodman's possible role, like the plot details of the film, are being kept under wraps, but sources say that his part would be along the lines of the villain character played by Paul Giamatti, one of the few bright spots of "The Hangover Part II."

Goodman's apparently not the only actor in the running for the role, as Phillips' wishlist for the part include Robert Downey Jr., who recently appeared opposite "Hangover" star Zach Galifianakis in Phillips' "Due Date," and Sean Penn ... who, now that we think about it, should probably show up in a "Hangover" movie at some point.

John Goodman has had a very full schedule lately and is set to appear in no less than three high profile films this fall: "Trouble With the Curve," opening Sept. 21, "Argo," opening Oct. 12 and "Flight," opening Nov. 2. He'll next be seen (or heard, rather) as the voice of Mr. Prenderghast in "ParaNorman," opening Aug. 17.

"The Hangover Part III" will hit theaters on May 24, 2013.
