Yo ho, yo ho, it's a pirate's life for Russell Brand.
That's because Brand has joined the long list of celebrities who have posed for photographer Annie Leibovitz in her ongoing, and increasingly awesome, Disney Dream Portrait series, which casts stars as famous Disney characters. Brand's choice? "Peter Pan" nemesis Captain Hook.
We knew Katy Perry had given him the hook, but we didn't realize he was going to take it so literally.
"There are similarities between me and Captain Hook in that I am an Eton-educated, piratical buccaneer living on the high seas stealing and robbing and loathing the perpetual innocence and childhood of Pan," Brand told Us Magazine. "Peter Pan! Oh, how I hate him!"
And Brand isn't the only big name indulging in a little childhood whimsy at the Mouse House. Comedians Jack Black, Will Farrell and Jason Segel got together for a group portrait re-imagining the trio as Phineas, Ezra and Gus, known to Disney fans everywhere as the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the "Haunted Mansion" theme park attraction.
"I've had this poster on my wall since I was 15 years old," Segel said. "I was really honored and excited when I found out we were going to do this -- and with the two best dudes of all time!"
