You know what we love most about Marvel and their big line of interconnected superhero movies? They seem like they're actually enjoying themselves, which unfortunately is something you can't say about a lot of blockbusters these days.

Case in point: Marvel unveiled a brand new short film titled "Item 47" at this year's Comic-Con — and we've got the first teaser from it right here.

"Avengers" fans assemble!

Of course, you could wait until "The Avengers" actually comes out on Blu-ray to watch this, as the entire 12-minute mini-epic will be included as a bonus feature. But considering how popular Marvel's previous shorts have been — particularly Clark Gregg's butt-kicking Agent Coulson in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor's Hammer," which went viral last year — we have a feeling you'll want to check this one out right now.

So what exactly is "Item 47?" Well, it seems that it might just be some kind of alien artifact left over from the big fight between "The Avengers" and Loki's alien horde at the end of "The Avengers." And since it happens to have fallen into the hands of a young couple with aspirations of a better life (one of whom is played by Lizzy Caplan!), let's just say that sometimes when opportunity knocks, you should just lock the door and hide under the couch.
