The fine art of the movie trailer — the sneak peek that can make or break a movie months before it even hits theaters — has been honored once again.

The 13th Annual Golden Trailer Awards were held on Thursday, May 31, and both Batman and the Muppets proved to be big winners this year. The "Chant" trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises" took home the awards for Best in Show, Best Action and Summer 2012 Blockbuster Trailer as it promised a haunting final chapter to Christopher Nolan's Gotham City chronicles. On the lighter side, the "Their Movie" trailer for "The Muppets" won Best Animation/Family.

"Chronicle" ended up being recognized for its haunting "Camera" trailer, winning Most Original Trailer. "Bridesmaids" (the red band trailer, natch) got Best Comedy and the rousing "Immigrant Song"-set teaser for "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" took home Best Drama. And "Piranha 3DD" outshone them all as it was honored with that highest of accolades: Trashiest Trailer.

Check out our select list of winners below. You can see the complete list at the Official Site of the Golden Trailer Awards.
