Alexander Ludwig is ready to lighten up a little bit.

The young actor, who played the villainous Cato in "The Hunger Games," will laugh it up in the comedy sequel, "Grown Ups 2," according to Variety.

Ludwig will be playing the role of David Spade's son (we don't know why, but we find that very amusing). Just what kind of father-son relationship they have in the movie remains to be seen, but we have a feeling it might involve some tension and/or conflict.

Alexander Ludwig was fantastic in "The Hunger Games" as the imposing District 1 tribute who has it out for Katniss and Peeta from the start. As terrific as he was at oozing evil, he was also very impressive when he got to show his tortured, melancholy side during the final face-off.

"Grown Ups 2" marks a merging of the worlds of "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight," as Ludwig will be joining Taylor Lautner in providing the film's young blood. Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock and Rob Schneider are set to return as the "adults" of the title.

"Grown Ups 2" will hit theaters on July 12, 2013.
