With each casting announcement, Disney's "Maleficent" becomes a little more intriguing.
Temple joins the likes of Angelina Jolie (who'll play the titular Maleficent, the witch who cursed Aurora into becoming Sleeping Beauty and whose perspective the film will draw from), India Eisley (a younger version of Jolie's Maleficent), Elle Fanning (the Aurora character), Sam Riley, Sharlto Copley, Lesley Manville, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson and Kenneth Cranham for the picture.
Temple will reportedly portray Thistletwit, one of the three lackadaisical fairies who are charged with protecting Aurora (we all know how that works out) alongside Manville as Flittle and Staunton as Knotgrass.
Production on the picture is expected to begin this summer in London, England, and it will be directed by first-timer Robert Stromberg of visual effects supervisor fame. The script was co-penned by Linda Woolverton ("Alice in Wonderland," "The Lion King") and Paul Dini.
Juno Temple's got a lot of projects on her plate at the moment, including "Wild Side" with Nicholas Cage and "Magic Magic" with Emily Browning, but throwing a high-dollar, well-cast Disney flick on top of the pile is never a bad idea! She'll next be seen as Holly Robinson in "The Dark Knight Rises" this July 20.
