Amy Adams seems to be about the least dark person in all of Hollywood. This is the lady that starred in "Enchanted," after all. She's pretty much made of sunshine and lollipops. She's like a song from "The Sound of Music" given human form. It's crazy.

But now she's getting ready to leave all of that behind, as according to Deadline she's in discussions to star in the upcoming thriller "Dark Places." Are you ready for Amy Adams, devil worshipper?

Okay, so that would be crazy, right? But devil worship is very much at the heart of "Dark Places," which is based on the acclaimed 2009 bestselling novel by author Gillian Flynn.

According to Deadline, "Adams will play Libby Day, a woman who, at seven-years old, survived the brutal massacre of her family and testified against her brother as the murderer. Twenty-five years later, the Kill Club, a secret-society obsessed with solving notorious crimes, bring her to question and confront the truth of what took place that day."

So were the murders really part of a Satanic ritual? Or was something even darker going on? One thing is for sure: With three-time Oscar nominee Adams on board, the future of "Dark Places" looks bright indeed.

See, she just can't help herself.
