If you think about it it's kind of appropriate that Soundgarden, a band famous for its internal strife, breakup, and ultimately triumphant reunion, should musically usher in "The Avengers," since, well, that's kind of what those prima donna superheroes do when they get together too.
Now Chris Cornell and the boys have debuted the video for "Live to Rise," which stands as Soundgarden's first newly recorded song released since reforming in 2010, and it features tons of footage of Thor, Iron Man, and much Hulking out from this Friday's blockbuster.
"Live to Rise" is just the first single from the Marvel Music/Hollywood Records soundtrack release "Avengers Assemble," which features other '90s-era power rockers like Bush and Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots, as well as more current hitmakers like Evanescence, Rise Against, and Shinedown.
