It's a great night for San Diego … and fans of "Anchorman."

After years of off-and-on enthusiasm and half-commitments, Paramount has finally given the sequel to the 2004 Will Ferrell comedy the official go-ahead, according to Deadline.

Ferrell revealed the news as Ron Burgundy himself on Conan O'Brien's TBS show on Wednesday night, where he played his signature flute, speculated on getting lucky with a female crew member later that evening, recommended Conan invest in plastic surgery and let it be known to everyone in the Americas, as well as "Spain, Turkey and the U.K., including England," that he and Paramount had come to terms on a sequel to "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

Ron and his crack Action 4 news team, played by Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner, will be back for the sequel, which will be produced by Judd Apatow along with Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions. McKay will direct from a script written by himself and Ferrell.

This is some classy news indeed. Check out Mr. Burgundy making the announcement below, courtesy of Team Coco.
