Goodness knows "Twilight Saga" author Stephenie Meyer has a way with supernatural love stories.

We all know what happened when she gave an ordinary girl the affection of both a vampire and a werewolf (the word "phenomenon" comes to mind), and now we're starting to see what's to come of her first sci-fi story "The Host," which has an even more peculiar love triangle at the center.

People Magazine peeped a first-glimpse today at the Andrew Niccol-helmed adaptation of her only non-"Twilight" book to-date.

"The Host" is featured in this week's edition of the publication, and People sampled their chat with Niccol with this quote: "It's kind of an alien love story."

That is most definitely an understatement.

Saoirse Ronan stars in the flick as Wanda, an alien soul who's taken over the body of a girl named Melanie Stryder. Earth is riddled with these soul-driven bodies, and in fact, there are only a few non-inhabited humans left. Melanie Stryder, however, refuses to be a simple host body and her thoughts and emotions linger, sending Wanda on a journey to find her people.

Max Irons and Jake Abel star as Jared and Ian, humans from Melanie's old crew. Melanie has a long-standing relationship with Jared, while Wanda takes a liking to Ian. Needless to say, things get complicated between the group, since Melanie and  Wanda share the same body.

The first teaser trailer for "The Host" will be revealed tonight, before "The Hunger Games" begins.

Diane Kruger, William Hurt, Frances Fisher, Chandler Canterbury, and Boyd Holbrook also star in "The Host," which will invade theaters on March 29, 2013.
