Anna Faris may be the reigning queen of the romantic comedy, but that doesn't mean she can get downright cynical about love. Variety reports that the "What's Your Number?" actress is teaming up with "Bridesmaids" star Rose Byrne for the Working Title rom-com "I Give it a Year."

The movie, written and directed by "Borat" helmer Dan Mazer, tells the story of a pair of quirky newlyweds, played by Byrne and "Prometheus" star Rafe Spall, as they navigate their first year of wedded bliss.

Simon Baker – yes, "The Mentalist" himself – will have a major supporting role, as will Faris.

Byrne, whose resume reads like a list of reasons for going on anti-anxiety meds, having starred in films like "Insidious," "The Dead Girl," and "28 Weeks Later," has shown her comedic prowess in movies like "Bridesmaids" and "Get Him to the Greek," but will be leading an ensemble comedy for the first time with this film.

Faris, on the other hand, got her big break as the lead in 2000's horror parody "Scary Movie," and has proven her scene-stealing abilities in even her smaller parts, like her unforgettable role as a clueless starlet in Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation." Faris can next be seen opposite Sacha Baron Cohen in "The Dictator," scheduled for release May 11.

"I Give it a Year" starts filming this spring in London.
