Okay, "Despicable Me 2," you have our attention.
Probably everyone's favorite part of 2010's surprise animated hit "Despicable Me" were the little yellow Minions who did super-villain Gru's bidding. Stealing the show from voice talent like Steve Carell, Russell Brand and Kristen Wiig is no easy feat, but by golly they sure were some cute fellers, weren't they?
Now they're back in the hilarious teaser trailer for the sequel (via iTunes), bringing they're own peculiar brand of Minion pitchmanship (Mitchmanship?), a tactic that worked well during the trailer campaign for the last movie.
The clip is simply a row of the adorable critters singing their own special rendition of the Beach Boy's 1965 hit "Barbara Ann" with creative lyric substitutions like "banana" and "potato." Brian Wilson is yellow with envy, or possibly acid flashbacks.
You can see the trailer attached to "The Lorax" this weekend, presumably with 3-D party favors coming right at you. "Despicable Me 2" is scheduled to open July 3, 2013, and features Al Pacino as Gru's nemesis.
