Kal Penn and Eva Longoria to Work for Obama Re-Election

It looks like Kal Penn is trading White Castle for the White House again, and this time, he's bringing some friends along for the ride.

The "Harold and Kumar" star and actress Eva Longoria have been appointed to co-chair positions in President Obama's re-election campaign, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The actors join a group of 33 other supporters who will lend their efforts to see Obama elected again in 2012. Among the other chairs are Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro and Illinois Senator Rick Durbin. The stars will seek contributions in addition to promoting Obama's campaign among influential players in Hollywood.

Both actors have been vocal supporters of Obama in the past; Longoria, whose campaigning during the President's first term earned her a spot as associate director of the White House Office of Public Engagement, has been promoting Obama's re-election long before her appointment to the 2012 campaign.

"I'm a big Obama supporter, no matter what he's been through," the actress told Jimmy Kimmel last year. "I'm a big advocate for Latino issues and so he's been a big listener and he's done a lot."

Penn, who also served the Office of Public Engagement from 2009 to 2010, has lent his famous face to the President in the past, both campaigning for Obama and starring in videos supporting the Commander-in-Chief.

"I have never met anyone in my lifetime that has the sort of integrity that he has," said Penn during the President's first campaign.
